The Wilderness Downtown

If you haven't already, you need to visit The Wilderness Downtown. It's a touching interactive film that might just make you cry. It's also the music video to Arcade Fire's The Wilderness Downtown. I love it. (Thanks for sharing this with me, Eric!)

A few days ago I made falafel for my family. It's such a simple dish to make and it's always delicious. Instead of using pita bread, we wrapped our falafel in iceberg lettuce! It was another successful experiment and it turned out to be incredibly refreshing. (All photos taken by my brother, Matt Claghorn)

Recipe for Yogurt Dill Dipping Sauce:
- 1 pint plain nonfat yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, diced
- 1/2 cucumber, chopped into little cubes
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
- juice from lemon
- salt & pepper to taste

I ran into my friend Stephanie today and she had on the cutest ring from Silver in the City. I'll try to get a photo of the ring! I decided to check out their website and found some really neat items!

Wine Bottle and Stemware Picnic Stakes

Doesn't that last item make you want to go on a picnic?

Pad Thai

I decided to come home for the night to spend some time with my family. I thought it'd be fun to try to make pad thai for them! I went off of a bunch of different pad thai recipes, but had trouble finding some of the ingredients at the grocery stores in Zionsville, so I played around. I ended up creating a pad thai of my own with much experimentation. Sometimes that's the best part about cooking! (All photos taken by my brother, Matt Claghorn)

What are some of your favorite recipes? Ever had any mishaps turn into masterpieces?

Mixed Tape

After reading the latest post on one of my favorite blogs, Poppytalk, I decided to make a mixed tape! Poppytalk is having a "I've Made You a Mixed Tape" giveaway for the creators of the best mixed tapes! Go here for directions on how to enter. Here's what I came up with:

1. Wide Eyes, Local Natives
2. Go Do, Jónsi
3. Ambling Alp, Yeasayer
4. Killemall, Menomena
5. Lovesick Teenagers, Bear In Heaven
6. Grow, Le Loup
7. Zebra, Beach House
8. Animal Tracks, Mountain Man

If you decide to make your own mixed tape, leave me a comment and share! I'd love to hear your mixes and who doesn't love finding new music?

Home, Sweet Home

I moved from one Bloomington house to another this month and am currently decorating my new place. I'll post pictures once everything is put together! I'm swooning over all of these home goods!

Welcome back into my life, Internet!

I'm sorry for my lack of updates lately. I have been sans internet for awhile now. I'm welcoming it back into my life with open arms! I've recently started working at an extremely cute boutique+vintage shop, Cactus Flower, in downtown Bloomington. Every day that I've worked, I've loved and every single person I've worked with, I've also loved. It's hard not to blow all of my money there! Here's a corny first day of work photo a friend of mine took on my first day:

I hope all is well! I've missed blogging! Anyone have any final summer plans?
