SASQUATCH MUSIC FESTIVAL 2011

I know, I know. I'm adding these incredibly late! My good friend Mel and I took a lot (and I mean a lot) of photos during the weekend, and it took us a bit to get through them all. She took 1400 photos and narrowed them down to 700! Impressive, right? Anyway, Sasquatch was wonderful. The weather was beautiful for the majority of the weekend and we ended up staying at an inn that was less than a five minute walk away. It was in a vineyard and it was absolutely breathtaking. I miss the view!

This trip was my first visit ever to Washington. I spent a day in Seattle and then road tripped to The Gorge with Kelcey, Mel, Matt, and Spencer. I'm still soaking it all in! I can't wait to visit again! If you feel like closing your eyes and pretending to be at Sasquatch, check out these recordings from the festival on Mel's soundcloud, here. Roadtrip: Chicago Edition

My friend Addison and I made our way to Chicago last weekend. Whenever Matt plays within driving distance, I have to make it to the show. I love roadtrips and Chicago is only four hours away from Bloomington! I had a lot of fun seeing Matt and the other guys. I was in good company (that is an understatement)! Local Natives played at Columbia College. It was a great area over there. We were able to make it over to Millennium Park for some fun before the show!

I graduate from college in two days! How crazy is that? Now that this semester is finally through, I promise to be more consistent with posting! Sorry I have been so sporadic lately! How are you guys doing? Surviving the semester? Ready for summer?

Who knew potholes could look so pretty?

I love this installation by artist Juliana Santacruz Herrera! I never thought I could be cheered up by a pothole, but I couldn't help but smile looking at these. (via HonestlyWTF)

On a completely different note, what are your thoughts on the Lollapalooza lineup for this summer? I just made my custom lineup, here. I'll actually be in Chicago later this week to see Matt (I haven't seen him since my trip to Austin in March!) and watch Local Natives play a show at Columbia College. Needless to say, I'm excited! After that, I have one more final and then I graduate college! Crazy!

Too Much J. Crew Goodness & a Taste of my Weekend

I could spend hours looking through the adorable goodness that J. Crew has to offer. If only their store was my closet! Denim, stripes, and neutrals... Oh my! Here are a few of my favorites:

On another note, this past weekend I made my way to L.A. for the Local Natives show at Walt Disney Concert Hall. It's impossible for me to explain how special it was for me. Every song left me speechless and frozen. My good friend Mel and I had to brace each other through most of the songs! I was lucky enough to be seated with her and Matt's family, who I absolutely love. That made the amazing experience even more special for me. My heart is still overflowing with pride and love for these guys. I'll upload some photos later this week, but here's a little taste of what the show entailed:

This quote sums up how we all felt that night to a tee:

"As Local Natives left the stage, the man sitting to my left turned to me and said in all sincerity, 'I think this is what church is supposed to feel like.' I laughed as he walked away, but understood what he meant. Everyone in the room felt connected to something greater, to some unifying force. Perhaps, it was music;  perhaps, pride for Los Angeles. Regardless of what it was, everyone felt full of life." -Giana Hughes (Proxart)

Big thanks go to Aya of Strawberry Koi for taking care of & everything nice while I was away! Isn't her post adorable? I'm not surprised! She's too adorable for words herself!

Warby Parker & A Surprise!

Has anyone else fallen in love with the new Warby Parker collection? I definitely have. There are so many cute new vintage-style frames. I love that they incorporate their own creativity with a vintage look. It definitely doesn't hurt. Choosing a favorite is too hard, can't I just have them all? Too bad I don't need glasses!

& a surprise! I'll be leaving town tomorrow through Monday to venture out to L.A. to see my boy, his band, and my friends! Local Natives are playing a show on Saturday at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with an orchestra. It's impossible for me to express my excitement in words! I'll bring back lots of stories and pictures! While I'm gone, I'm going to have a surprise guest blogger. I really can't wait to see what she comes up with. You all are going to love it! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I thought it would beappropriate to share something this beautiful on a day like today, especially since it involves my valentine. I hope you all have a wonderful love-filled day. I don't think today should be any different than any other day and by that I mean, I try to be thankful for the love I have everyday. I don't just mean that romantically, I'm thankful for all of the people I have in my life. You all too!

This makes my heart smile.

Asos & A Belated Happy New Year!

I adore the "collegiate style meets flirty '50s shapes" of the new All-American Girl collection by Asos. I would wear all of these outfits, hands down. I just received an amazing Asos jacket from my boyfriend for Christmas. I'll make sure to upload pictures as soon as I get the chance! I've been in LA since last Monday visiting. It's my first time out here and I absolutely love it. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and I'm sorry for my lengthy absence!

Also, make sure to tune into Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night (Tuesday the 4th) to catch Local Natives! I can't wait!

Lonely Hearts & A Trip to New York

Hello friends! I thought I'd try to post once before my trip to New York this weekend. If any of you bloggers out there will be in NYC this weekend, you should come out to the Local Natives show (with The Union Line & The Ruby Suns) at Webster Hall this Saturday! I'll be there! If you end up going, shoot me an e-mail so we can meet up and say hi! (Tickets available here)

Anyone have any exciting plans for this weekend? Any awesome costume ideas? I'm keeping mine a secret until after the weekend, but I promise to post photos afterwards! Have a great weekend everyone!

Here are some simple, yet lovely looks by Lonely Hearts that I really enjoy.

J. Crew's sweater perfection

Anyone else lusting over these sweaters as much as I am? I am loving the layering, colors combinations, and definitely the lipstick on this model. She's making me miss my long hair a little bit!

This past weekend was a lot of fun. I drove down to Nashville with Aya of Strawberry Koi, Thom of Thom Lennon Photography, and Sara of The Basement Jam to surprise Matt at his show in Nashville! It was so good to see all of the guys of The Union Line and Local Natives again. Those guys are all incredibly nice (and incredibly talented on top of that)! On Friday we had a blogger meet up in Nashville and it was a lot of fun! I got to meet Quincy of Q's Daydream Vintage (and her husband), Fab of Vested Bee Vintage, and Lauren of Blooming Leopold Vintage. They are all the nicest of girls! Photos to come!
